Case BBOPF 19-1
Dr. Mitzi J. Palazzolo is seeking your help.
Clinical History
The patient is a 42 year-old female with 4 week history of lip swelling. The patient is in the second trimester of pregnancy.
At first glance I thought of orofacial granulomatosis and cheilitis granulomatosa. The patient does not have a history of Sarcoidosis or Crohn’s but I think those should be ruled out. No history of any new creams, medications or beauty products in the area. But it wouldn’t be a bad idea to rule out contact dermatitis with patch testing or other by derm. Furthermore, I am not sure about using intra-lesional injections with steroids (such as triamcinolone) during pregnancy.
I would appreciate:

- Your input regarding management of this patient.

- The name of a professional in the Nebraska area who could help this patient.

I appreciate your opinions and efforts on behalf of this patient.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mitzi J. Palazzolo
