Dr. Robin Howell (Dalhousie University, Halifax NS Canada) is requesting your opinion. Please send your comments in the window located below the images. This case will be posted from November 2-11, 2010. A summary of the responses will be made available in BBOP.

Clinical History

The patient is a 16 yo white male, in apparent good health, with minimal improvement to the patchy redness of his gingivae, despite switching from toothpaste to baking soda, using chlorhexidine mouthwash, and trying topical steroids. The periodontist managing the case assessed the oral hygiene as "very good." Please find attached 3 clinical photos and 21 photomicrographs of the gingival biopsy.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.
