Clinical History

A 21 year old female presented with a 7 month history of enlarging scales on her lips. In the last 2 months, she developed patchy grey areas on the skin of her face and hands.

Investigations

Histopathology: Profound hyperorthokeratosis, slightly irregular acanthosis with patchy spongiosis and minimal perivascular lymphocytic inflammation in the superficial stroma. Conclusion: Limited spongiotic dermatitis consistent with an eczematous process.

Clinical & Laboratory Investigations by a dermatologist, a physician, a gastroenterologist and an oncologist have ruled out Acrodermatitis Enteropathica and Acanthosis Nigricans. Patch Testing was non-contributory.
